Why Visit Jogi Pahadi?

JOGI PAHADI: Jogi Pahadi is the infamous place where Bhagwan Mahaveer faced the upsarg of Chandakaushik. It is believed that Chandakaushik was a very poisonous and dangerous snake. Bhagwan Mahaveer visited jogi Pahadi to pratibodh Chandakaushik. When Bhagwan Mahaveer arrived, chandakaushik attacked Bhagwan Mahaveer and bit him on the toe. Instead of getting angry towards Chandakaushik, Bhagwan showed love and compassion towards the snake and uttered only three words, “Bhuj, Bhuj Chandakaushik”, meaning become self aware chandakaushik. These three words changed Chandakaushik after which he attained samadhi and became a dev of the 8th devlok. Bhagwaan Mahaveer did a 15 day kausag dhyaan on this place. This is a big event that occurred in the life of Bhagwan Mahaveer and it is said to happen at Jogi Pahadi in West Bengal.
