Why Visit Puchara?

Puchara is a small village located in Paschim Vardhaman. It is also known as the ‘Lost city of Jains’ as there were ruins of a jain temple found and multiple jain idols that were disfigured and damaged. The people of Puchara take pride in telling that Bhagwaan Mahaveer spent 2 months in this area where is did dhyaan and tap. Hence this is the site where bhagwaan did one of his “Do Maasi Tap” or 2-month long fast.
